Advisories NCA Offices Closed
As a result of the provincewide shutdown that went into effect on Saturday, April 3, 2021, the offices of the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) have again been closed. The Federation of Law Societies of Canada continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation and to comply with all government and health authority orders.
NCA employees are continuing to work remotely and to respond to emails, but some tasks, including file assessments, cannot be completed remotely and are suspended until further notice. As we are not able to receive or process mail or courier deliveries during the shutdown, new applications and assessments will be processed only once the NCA office reopens. Please direct any questions about the assessment process to nca@flsc.ca.
The NCA will continue to process requests for Certificates of Qualification (CQs) during the shutdown. Requests must be made through the NCA Portal. While our office is closed, the NCA is unable to provide paper copies of CQs but we will continue to notify all law societies of the names of qualifying candidates. During these challenging times there may be delays in processing requests for CQs.
The schedule of NCA online exams is not affected by the shutdown. The NCA web site, online application form, and NCA Portal will also continue to be available.
